Welcome!

Hey! My name is Meghan, welcome to my blog! I love design so I am super excited to take this Design Research and Methods course. I am a transfer sophomore economics major here at Quinnipiac University.  I am from a small town in Monmouth County, NJ called Lincroft. My absolute favorite place to be is the beach. When I am not at the beach with my friends, I am at The Winding Brook School. Winding Brook is a school for daycare to kindergarten aged children. In the summer I lifeguard and teach swim lessons there for camp. At home I live with my mom, dad and two brothers. My brothers and I are extremely close. I have Mike who is 21 and attends Fairfield University, and Kevin who is a sophomore in High School. We are your typical Irish Catholic family. Speaking of my Irish background, I am 100% Irish and have had the chance to go to Ireland twice so far. My last visit to Ireland was in August of 2013. All twenty six Kanes got on a plane and flew to the motherland. While we were there we had the unbelievable opportunity to visit our great grandfathers farm. The picture attached to this post is of my twelve cousins and I looking out onto our great grandfather's property. Although this photo may look posed, it is actually 100% candid. We were all really soaking in the fact that we were standing on the ground of our past ancestors and that without those ancestors, we would not be standing there. It was truly amazing and we all felt extremely grateful to be able to stand there as a big happy family thanks to those ancestors. And that is exactly what I am all about. Anyone who knows me, knows that family is most important in my mind. My large family inspires me everyday. I have 14 cousins on my mom's side  along with these twelve. Without these people I would not be who I am today. We are all incredibly close with one another and I thank God everyday for these outstanding people who surround me. So that pretty much sums up me! I cannot wait to share my design ideas with you!
